Summary:

Memoirs of the author's life as a yeshiva student in Cracow before the war, and his survival during the war on false papers as a Pole. He helped to arrange false papers for two sisters and one brother, and a sister-in-law and nephew, all of whom survived. His parents were murdered in a mass shooting action, and his older brother died in a forced labor camp. During the war, he worked as a mechanic for the German air force in Warsaw. In January 1944 his identity became suspect and he fled via Slovakia to Hungary and, after the German occupation, to Romania. In October 1944 he emigrated to Israel.
