Summary:

This book offers an investigation that combines the vision of history with the principles of archaeology, the case study Hacienda La Parada, three hundred years from an archaeohistorical perspective (1605-1921) that not only involves the systematic analysis of an economic institution whose origin can be traced to the fifties of the 16th century, but the novelty of the proposal is the archaeological orientation developed. Although the approach to this type of material heritage is not scarce in the bibliography of a historical nature, the intervention from archaeology is an achievement in an incipient line of research outlined since the end of the last century, mainly for central and southern Mexico, being the present one of the few volumes that devote their attention in an integral way to an enigma of this nature in the region of San Luis Potosí. Although this contribution has as its primary objective the archaeological community, the way of constructing the discourse and the corresponding argumentation, will catch the attention not only of those , but also of historians, ethnohistorians anthropologists and other professionals close to these disciplines whose interest gravitates around this young and important theme.
