- This book includes a Spanish translation of the reports and travel log that the American engineer Ray Floyd Weirick wrote in the early 20th century and that served as inspiration and references for the Parrish Development Company to begin the construction works of the El Prado neighborhood in the city of Barranquilla. "This is the fascinating story of the American engineer Ray Floyd Weirick, who in 1918 was hired by Karl C. Parrish to carry out the landscape design of the El Prado neighborhood of Barranquilla. This publication, as a log, compiles more than 300 previously unpublished photographs and the detailed account of the different experiences that Weirick lived during his journey through several cities in the United States and the Caribbean in search of urban references, landscaping models and plant species for arborization; all this inspiration allowed to crystallize the project that Parrish had in mind: to create a garden city in the Colombian tropics" (HKB Translation) --Verso Cover.
