Summary:
Research carried out in the Historic Center of Havana by the LUZ Y TELA sociocultural project, with the objective of preserving the color designs of the glass transom in door frame and bullseye glass in these colonial buildings, to later, through the technique provided by patchwork textile art, give them life to these decorative elements belonging to the cultural heritage of the Cuban nation, considering its history and the heritage value that they contain. "You cannot ignore in most of these architectural jewels the deterioration caused by the passage of time. Many of them have been restored, others are damaged, and some are only known from their presence in literature. This was the main reason why agroup of rtesanos, some members of the Asociación Cubana de Artesanos y Artistas de Cuba (ACAA), Most professionals of different specialties and retirees, we decided to enter the patios and balconies to save from oblivion these elements that have not yet been restored, and that due to their state of conservation cannot continue waiting."
