As a well-known educator and a survivor of the Shubenacadie Indian Residential School, she has broken down systemic barriers, leading the Mi'kmaq to access all levels of education, and worked tirelessly to reclaim and promote Indigenous ways of knowing and being. In A Journey of Love and Hope, Sister Dorothy's words are collected in print, as she originally spoke them, for the first time.
