Summary:
Journal of an unknown Scottish seaman pressed into the navy, kept between March 1805 and 9th June 1814. He was captured off Cape Finisterre on board the DOVE cutter in August 1805 with despatches for Nelson's fleet, and spent most of the next nine years in prison ashore at Amiens, Auxerre and Besancon.
