Summary:
The log details his voyage from Liverpool to San Francisco and back on the LADY HEATHCOTE. Mansfield signed on as the ship's carpenter on 10 November 1868 at the age of twenty-two. The captain of the vessel was S. Loosemore. According to the crew list (official number of the vessel: 62210) this was his first voyage. He was signed off on 5 September 1869 at Liverpool. From the 1871 census returns he was described as a shipwright. Includes printed leaflet at the back of the volume.
