Summary:
James Whitworth to his wife, HMS PORTIA, North Yarmouth 29 March 1812. Arrived here on Good Friday, and is concerned to hear of Lotty's illness. Their cruise was dangerous, in bad weather, and he has worn his sodden clothes for five days. Doesn't think his wife would recognise him were he to come in their shop. They captured a sloop, but were forced to abandon it due to the weather, and couldn't board another. Discusses news from home with her.
