Letters written by Edward Tobey Barker to his mother, Sally Fuller Barker, 1862-1864 (disbound). This subseries contains letters written by Edward Tobey Barker while serving as paymaster on the U.S. gunboat HURON, the steamer MERCEDITA, and the USS KENNEBEC during the Civil War. Letters written while serving on the USS KENNEBEC include accounts of the events preceding the Battle of Mobile Bay.
