Manuscript account by Matthew Morris Howland of sailing across Buzzards Bay, Mass. onboard the whaling ship JAVA and back via pilot boat. Howland describes his seasickness and a large wave that almost washed over him. The account was probably written as a school assignment at the Friends Academy, New Bedford.
