Summary:
Navigation books (1766) and logbooks (1769-1783) kept by Thomas Nicolson on trading voyages from Plymouth, Mass. and other locations to various ports, among them several islands of the West Indies, in the brigantines WILLIAM, CERES and NEPTUNE; brig POLLY; schooners KILLING MIND and KINGSTON; ships VENUS and UNION; and sloops SALLY and REMEMBERGRACE. Also included are a record of sales of the brigantine WILLIAM's cargo sold at Surinam and other business and personal accounts (1773-74) of Thomas Nicolson, and a navigation book and log of Samuel Nicolson of voyages made in 1813. The logs detail the navigational coordinates and weather during his voyages and provides occasional narrative accounts.
