Summary:
Private journal kept by John Dand on the barque SIR HENRY POTTINGER (1845), covering most of a voyage to Chile and back to Swansea, commenced on 18 March 1858. The last entry is for 7 November 1858. There are small passages of shorthand and some pages were filled in by Joshua Martin Dand using his father's copying book in 1892.
