- Voyages undertaken by HMS FURY and HMS HECLA from 1821 to 1823, commanded by Captain William Edward Parry and Captain George Francis Lyon. The first volume begins with a detailed account of the processes involved in becoming part of the crew on such an expedition. The volumes include accounts of several theatrical performances and other entertainments they made to occupy their time when they were confined to the ships in freezing conditions, as well as accounts of land exploration, rescues of lost men and hunting trips.
