Commonplace-book of Simeon Crowell, a Baptist preacher from Yarmouth, Mass. Includes verses Crowell wrote as a young man, copies of letters he wrote to family and friends, and an autobiographical account of his youth, his life and many brushes with death as a sailor, and his long struggle of conscience culminating in his religious conversion. Among those Crowell wrote to were his daughter Mary Crowell, Thomas Nickerson of Readfield, Maine, and Moses Brown of Providence, Rhode Island. Pages 45-53 are missing from the volume.
