Summary:
Diary of Daniel Minor Lord, a Presbyterian pastor at the Mariners' Church in Fort Hill, Boston (1834-1848) and Shelter Island Presbyterian Church in New York (1848-1861). Entries from his time at Mariners' Church discuss visits from sailors seeking religious instruction and his attempts at converting sailors away from sin. Entries from his time on Shelter Island are of his personal thoughts regarding his life, ministry, and family. Inserted in the diary are religious verse and newspaper clippings c.1885 detailing the life John Adams, the last survivor of the HMS BOUNTY mutiny, and life on Pitcairn Island.
