Summary:
Logbook and narrative journal kept by Rev. Thomas Prince of Old South Church (Boston, Mass.), while travelling on the ship THOMAS AND ELIZABETH as part of a fleet on several journeys: Boston to Barbados, 29 March-4 September 1709; Barbados to London, 5 September 1709 - 16 March 1710; London to Madeira, 17 March-29 April 1710; Madeira to Barbados, 30 April-2 August 1710; Barbados to Great Britain, 3 August-17 October 1710. The entries contain geographic coordinates, wind direction and speed, and weather, as well as descriptions of daily occurrences including incidents between the fleet and other ships, poetry, and ballads. Prince also notes stays in Barbados, Madeira, London and other parts of England, including a stay at the latter from 17 October 1710 - 30 January 1711. Included are drawings of Queen Ann's Fort at Barbados, headlands of Disseaden, headlands and a map of Madeira.
