Summary:
Narrative log of the schooner WILLIAM BAYARD, kept by shipmaster James Freeman Curtis from 1822-1823 while on a return trip to New York from a trading voyage to Boca Chica, Colombia. Curtis changed ships in Colombia from the schooner PORPOISE after the death of the vessel's captain and sailed the vessel to New York for the owners. He sailed again aboard the WILLIAM BAYARD on a trading voyage to Tampico, Mexico and Cuba.
