Chiefly correspondence, clearance papers, bills of lading, receipts, manifests of crew and cargo, accounts, and other papers, relating to Herrick's trading voyages, 1802-15, from Newburyport to Cuba, France, India, Russia, and the West Indies in the ships ALERT, INDUSTRY and ROSE IN BLOOM. Includes descriptions of trading conditions and incidents during the voyages, protest of the seizure and detention of the ALERT off the Barbary coast by the British, 1808, and depositions relating to shipwreck of the ROSE IN BLOOM off Norway, 1810.
