Logbook, 3 January 1856 - 24 April 1859, kept by Salmon Clark, third mate of the whaling bark PRUDENT of Greenport, NY, master James Albert Hamilton, during a voyage to the Pacific Ocean, Arctic Ocean and Sea of Japan. Made 11 ports-of-call, spoke 28 other vessels, reports native contact at Easter Island where natives attacked and took two crew members prisoner as well as the description of a fight between a crew member,the captain and first mate.
