Summary:
A letter from John Bemont written to his parents informing them of his travels. His first assignment was on board of the THOMAS (Ship), Captain Trowbridge, which was captured by the HMS IPHIGENIA (Frigate). He goes on to travel on many ships and places. Some of the ships were the LEOPARD (Ship), bound for the Cape of Good Hope, the FOX (Ship), bound for New South Wales, and the ROSE (Ship), bound for Guangzhou. He expects to be home in 30 months. In the letter he refers to Guangzhou (China) as Canton (China).
