Summary:

Advances in modern technology have made it possible to postpone and control death and to sustain life almost indefinitely. This has raised a host of ethical questions that society must address. When does it become morally legitimate to pull the plug? Should a patient be guided to an easy death? What are the legal, moral and ethical implications of euthanasia? This film examines these critical issues. It invites arguments from both sides of the debate. Part of the film was shot in Holland, the only country to openly permit euthanasia at the patient's request. One learns first hand how this policy is affecting doctors, their patients and the general public. An important film in any classroom or discussion of the 'right to die' issue.
