Apparently a salesman's mock-up copy, containing binding samples and list of subscribers following the printed text. Chamberlain is one of 32 signers who were allowed the choice of extra cloth, library style, or half Turkey Morocco binding. Contains 36 pages of printed text and four pages of signatures. The final 15 pages, intended for signatures, are blank besides printed text indicating binding styles and the title of the book. Contains 10 plates of American historical figures. Bound in green cloth, with sample spine cloths pasted onto front and back covers.
Includes bibliographical references (pages) and index.
