- Summary:
- Although Mexico did not enter the Cold War head-on, due to its geopolitical and economic condition it did tip its balance towards the side of the United States and not the Soviet Union. This became evident through the various policies that the Mexican State took over the years that the conflict lasted, among them the cultural diplomacy that continued with the international projection of Mexican culture and showed the symptoms of change in the artistic field of the moment. This is the theme of this new book that contains a series of 11 essays, written by specialists from universities in Mexico and abroad, which expose some of the most important issues and events of Mexican cultural diplomacy of those years, a period of great political effervescence and ideological struggles the researchers have noticed that in this period there were some signs of change in the forms and contents of exhibiting the artistic work of Mexico.
