A rich testimony to the political struggle Spatar waged from his childhood days. Memories stretching from Izmir, where Spatar was born and raised, to the World Peace Festival, from the magazines he published to his student years at Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine, from the 1951 Detention of the Communist Party of Turkey to the difficult days in Mamak Military Prison after the 1980 coup. The book reassembles some of Spatar's previously published articles and a long conversation, as well as fragments from his correspondence with friends and his wife. The book, which includes an interview with his wife, Sabahat Spatar, and the thoughts of some of his colleagues about Spatar, is a tribute to an intellectual whose life passed through struggle.
