Summary:
Most images depict collections and exhibitions at the Pennsylvania Museum of Art in Philadelphia. Documents WPA restoration and education projects. Many images show workers dusting statues removed from the museum frieze. Includes exterior views of the new building, many taken at night. Of note are portrayals of picketing by the American Artists Congress. Also includes views of the museum with Horace Trumbauer (the architect) and other officials. Highlights the Johnson Collection, the Lansdowne Room in Memorial Hall and the 69th Street Community Center, a branch of the museum. Portrays chldren painting and children's art during summer art classes.
