Summary:
Depicts ship construction at the Sun Shipbuilding & Dry Dock Company in Chester, Pa. Many images show dry docks, cranes, the manufacture of parts, and welding. Includes scenes during launchings, particularly the launching ofoil tankers. Highlights employees at Sun Shipbuilding, with emphasis on foreign workers, women, and blacks. Portrays workers during shift changes and during the noontime break. Shows workers attending rallies, dancing, listening to music, and during a visit by Joe Louis. Contains views of office workers, medical clinic employees, and engineers. Also portrays picketers outside the plant during a strike and the arrest of one worker.
