Contains views related to Philadelphia water supply. Portrays city council members visiting water supply sites, and at water hearings, and the testing of water. Depicts the exterior of the Spring Garden Water Works, Lardner's Point, and the High Pressure Pumping Station. Shows the process of water filtration and a proposed water tank. Documents people using town hydrants during the water shortage and people from Academy Heights in line for water after a pump failure. Highlights people drinking purified water because tap water is polluted. Depicts ways in which water is wasted in the home. Includes wiews of filtration at the Northeast Treatment Works, machinery at the Torresdale plant, and interiors of the Queen Lane Filter Plant. Portrays workmen in manholes turning off water lines. Portrays Sussex, N.J. residents filling buckets of water from milk cans after a water line break.
