Summary:
Contains a crowd scene illustrating contrast in voting between 1936 and 1937, and depicting Roosevelt's popularity. Also shows labor union voting. Documents investigation of irregularities in election returns in Hudson County, N.J. during the senatorial race. All voting records were stored in a sealed vault and guarded by police during the investigation. Highlights views of voting machines and demonstrations of proper operation of the machines by voters. Some images depict the Prohibition party listed on the machine. Philadelphia voting machine items focus on fixing the machines and cheating. Shows servicemen guarding ballots at convention Hall during tabulation.
