국립문화재연구소는 전통문화의 올바른 계승과 우리 민속연구의 기초 자료를 구축하기 위하여 한국 민속 문헌자료를 집대성하고 있습니다. 이번에 그 성과물의 하나로 고려시대 저명한 문인들의 문집을 대상으로, 그 안에 있는 민속관련 문헌자료를 발췌 역주한 『문헌으로 보는 고려시대 민속』을 발간하게 되었습니다. 그동안 민속조사연구는 주로 현장조사를 중심으로 어느 정도 연구 성과를 축적해 왔으나, 문집 등 각종 고문헌에 나타난 문헌자료에 대해서는 조사연구가 매우 미흡한 싱태입니다. 이는 한문으로 되어 있어 일반 사람들이 접근하기 어려웠기 때문입니다. 이러한 어려움을 해결하기 위하여, 고려시대 문집 속에 나타난 민속 문헌자료를 한글로 번역하여 원문과 함께 수록한 것이 『문헌으로 보는 고려시대 민속』입니다. - 〈발간사〉 중에서 -.

The National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage is compiling Korean folk literature in order to properly inherit traditional culture and establish basic data for Korean folk research. This time, as one of the achievements, we have published ?Folklore of the Goryeo Dynasty through Literature?, which extracts and translates folk-related literature materials from collections of famous writers of the Goryeo Dynasty. So far, folk research has accumulated a certain amount of research results, mainly focusing on field research, but research on literature data found in various old documents such as collections of works is very insufficient. This is because it was written in Chinese characters, making it difficult for the general public to access. In order to solve these difficulties, ?Folklore of the Goryeo Dynasty through Literature? is a translation of the folk literary materials found in the Goryeo Dynasty collection into Korean and included together with the original text. - From <Published History> -.
