The compiler of the commonplace book is unknown. Index to pp.1-"245" sideways, from the back, on 4 further pages; between text and index come the roughly torn-off stubs of 18 ff. (36 pp.), the first having remains of writing on verso. Paginated by the compiler up to "398" (actually 399, the page number 161 being given to both recto and verso of the same leaf). The pastedowns and remains of the flyleaf conjugate with the second pastedown, are not included in any of the above paginations. Signature, blue ink, inside front cover on pastedown: McClenaghan
