- Extended paraphrase of the story of Joseph, from Genesis, with the elaboration that the Devil, out of resentment, first sends personified Discord to incite Joseph's brothers against him, and later sends personified Lust to make Potiphar's wife tempt him. In four cantos, each headed by a prose summary. Imitates Cowley's heroic epic "Davideis". Corrected

- The author of the poem is unknown. Title is followed by "The contents" (4 lines). Date, 1680, in margin opposite heading of "The first Canto". Some text corrections. "R H" and flourishes, in faded ink, at top of front cover; possibly author's initials. Paper label on front cover inscribed, probably in a later hand, "Joseph / A poem". Fore-edge inscribed "Poems"
