- The number for Dec. 21, 1850, called the "Christmas number." Extra Christmas numbers for the years 1851-1858 were issued with v. 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18.
- No. <4-5> reissued by George P. Putnam with a cancel slip over the number and the date. By issue 28 his imprint was printed below the caption title. Also issued in annual compilations. In 1852 <vol. 5, no. 23> was reissued with additional content as: Dicken's household words and valuable whispers. In 1852, <new series vol. 1, no. 4-15> was reissued with additional content as: Dickens' household words, and United States weekly register, then <new series vol. 1, no. 5-15> was reissued with additional content as: Dickens's household words and United States weekly register. In 1853 the title reverted back to Household words, and was marketed as "American edition," which was issued in both a weekly and a monthly edition as well as in semi-annual (volume) compilations, beginning with Vol. 1 (1850). Subscribers could also send back their own collected sets (of whatever years) and have them bound in green publisher's cloth to match the semi-annual compilations.

- American Antiquarian Society copy London issues 27-29 bound in v. 2 of the New York reissue.
- American Antiquarian Society copy 1 Vol. 1 (in half binding) has binder's ticket: Bound by Wm. G. Hathaway, Taunton, Mass. Vol. 4 (in publishers' cloth binding) has London title page and some London editions interspersed with reprints from New York. This volume was collected by the owner and sent to the New York publisher to be bound to match their annual reissues.
