- Young architect Franziska escapes the stifling influence of her professor in East Berlin to work in the planning bureau of a small provincial town. Experiencing more of life than she anticpated in the competition to redesign and renovate the town's center, she finds reasons to stay in the provincial town when her one-year probationary period is over.
