- Description: [1st] Field Survey Co RE (5643), grey base map of whole First Army Area, from Ploegsteert in north to Arras in south, and as far west as Hesdin: Lumbres - Hazebrouck - Bailleul - Armentières - Lille - Aire - Lillers - Choques - Béthune - La Bassée - Hesdin - St Pol - Lens - Douai - N. Arras. O/p red 5725 Secret, First Army Dispositions January 20th 1918. Shows Army HQ (black and red, at Ranchicourt), Corps (XV, Portugese [green and red], I, Canadian, XIII) and Divisional HQs and areas, and number of Brigades on each Divisional Front, and rear Reserve and Training Areas. Marginal Reference to First Army Musketry, Trench Mortar, Signal, SOS Schools, Canadian and other Corps Schools, etc. Very small edition - printed on hand-press, registered with small cross-cuts in corners. Not linen backed.
