Eventually he was sent to England where he was appointed chaplain to No 2 NZ General Hospital, Walton-on-Thames. The diaries describe Luxford's life and work in Egypt as a chaplain to the NZ troops. For much of this period he was responsible to the Otago Infantry Regiment. The last diaries details his movement to Gallipoli and the last entry was written on the 12 Aug 1915 when he was wounded. The diaries finish there.See also MSX-3468; MSX-3469 and MS-Papers-4454-1.
