The Small Box Respirator (SBR) was introduced in February 1916. It was probably the most reliable and most heavily used British gas mask.

Gas mask;Size 4 with '901' on the bottom of the bag. The inside flap of the bag carries the British Army control mark: a pointed arrow with the number '410'.
