Description: Letters written during the First World War, mainly from her homes in London and Hampshire, to her husband, principally during his Army service on the Western Front, providing a detailed daily record of her activities, thoughts, feelings and emotions during their separation and containing useful references to changing attitudes to the War and social issues, such as the shifting relationships between men and women, family life, civilian conditions on the Home Front, particularly in high society, rationing, morale, and interesting descriptions of her work as a Girl Guide Captain, and as a volunteer helper and clerk for the Red Cross.
