The Vickers machine gun MK 1 was water cooled, belt-fed with an inverted toggle lock. Rate of fire was 450 rounds per minute. Calibre: .303 (7.7x57R). Weight: 18.1kg (gun body) plus 4.1kg (water) plus 23kg (tripod). Length: 1155mm. Barrel length: 723mm. Belt held 250 rounds. Barrels were changed after 10,000 rounds. This was an excellent weapon, extremely durable and capable of sustained firepower.
