Description: A view of the Anglo-Persian Oil Company depot from the river at the junction of the Euphrates and Tigris. A dhow sails across the river in the foreground. Clouds of dark smoke rise up into the sky from the chimneys at the depot. Oil fuel was of utmost necessity for the Mesopotamian river traffic in the advance on Baghdad.
