Summary:
Atmospheric drama based on a chilling true story of serial killer Peter Manuel and Detective William Muncie's struggle to bring him to justice. Over two years he murdered eight people in an area less than a twenty six mile round trip by car, traumatising the tight knit communities of South Lanarkshire. Manuel evaded capture for so long because he was unlike anything the local police had ever encountered. He was a murderer without any discernible motive whose victims were chosen at random. William Muncie was one policeman who was determined that he would finally get this man.No arrest is made after Anne Kneiland's murder. Nine months later another family fall victim to a tragic attack. The husband and father, William, who was on a fishing trip at the time, is arrested. However, Muncie is convinced Manuel is the man behind all four murders. Muncie finally manages to cast enough doubt on Watt's arrest to have him released without charge, but can make no more headway on capturing Manuel. He has to watch and wait and before very long another young girl goes missing.
