Description: Collection of prints related to No. 7 Squadron, Royal Naval Air Service (RNAS) and the British Army during the First World War. The collection primarily covers No. 7 Squadron RNAS in East Africa in 1916. Includes photographs of Squadron Commander Eric Roper Curzon Nanson, and airmen in Voisin and BE2c aircraft. Photographs also cover the maintenance of Voisins and personnel working with the local population, aerial photographs over Dar es Salaam and the construction of an RNAS hangar somewhere in England, 3 July 1917. The British Army content includes two formal group photographs of Household Brigade officer cadets, Bushey, 1918, one formal portrait of Captain Harry Colver 1/5th Battalion, York and Lancaster Regiment, killed in action 19 December 1915, buried in Bard Cottage Cemetery, and one photograph of Colver in a dug-out.
