Summary:
An unspoken tradition requires that the family farm must be inherited by the eldest son. However, the eldest son has no intention of tending the farm for the rest of his life. Instead, he disappears to the city, and effectively breaks the family tradition, passing the burden to his sister, Amaia.. However, Amaia is also at odds with her traditionalist father, who disapproves of her artistic spirit and progressive ways. This intense drama of generational conflict narrates a family's efforts to keep alive the place they have called home.. Nominated for Best New Actress (Iraia Elias) at the Goya Awards. Winner of Best Basque Film and nominated for Best Film at the San Sebastián International Film Festival.. "Asier Altuna's visually sumptuous second feature about a family's struggle to break loose from its past is ... ponderous [and] often poetic."--Jonathan Holland, The Hollywood Reporter.
