Notes:
Vignette: Seal of the Zionitic brotherhood.
A collection of 725 hymns, differing almost entirely from the book of anthems and choruses published under a similar title in 1754. Most of the hymns had been previously printed in the Franklin hymnbooks (1730-1736) and in the "Turteltaube," The first 441 are by Johann Conrad Beissel. The preface is probably by Brother Jaebez (i. e. Johann Peter Miller) cf. Seidensticker's "First century of German printing in America" and Sachse, "German sectarians of Pennsylvania, 1708-1800."
