- Summary:
- Text of a paper delivered by HSP Library Director Lee Arnold during a panel presentation at "Language Matters: Printing News in English Abroad/Foreign-Language Publishing in the English-Speaking World," 5th International Transfopress Encounter, held in Paris. Dr. Arnold's presentation was about HSP's experience digitizing the Balch newspaper microfilm collection. Particular emphasis was placed on the Balch's French-language papers that were part of this process (including New York City's "Courier des Etats-Unis," which composed the largest single title of this collection; two French-Canadian newspapers published in Maine; and one newspaper published by the Icarian Movement in Iowa.)
