Summary:
Conrad Lippard (1680-1755) arrived in Philadelphia in 1738 from the German Palatinate with his wife, daughter Anna, and son William. In 1757, following the death of his parents, William, now married to Catherina and the father of three children, moved his family from Pennsylvania to North Carolina, settling on land owned by Governor Arthur Dobbs in Anson County. Many Lippards have remained in North Carolina; others moved west into Tennessee and Indiana, still others went to Texas.
