"John Holstead, of the fifth or sixth generation following Henry Holstead, it is not certain which, was b. in Currituck Co., N. C. Jan. 16, 1773. ... Died at Paddy's run, now Shandon, Butler Co., O. Feb. 16, 1855. m. in Nov. 1792, Ruth Richardson b. in Pasquotank, Co., N. C., July 24, 1775; d. at Paddy's Run, Sept. 30, 1841, dau. of Josiah and Ruth Richardson of Pasquotank Co. ..."--P. 97. Ruben Holstead "... b. probably in Currituck Co., N. C. about 1775; d. near Riley, Vigo Co., Ind., just prior to Dec. 16, 1853; m. in North Carolina probably about 1804, Elizabeth (Preston) Pearce b. in North Carolina, presumably, about 1772; d. near Riley, Ind., about 1845 ..."--P. 105. Their relatives and descendants lived in Ohio, Indiana, Florida, New York, California, Washington D. C., Texas, North Dakota, Illinois, Michigan, Canada and elsewhere.
