- Summary:
- History of the eight generations of Gobles who are descendants (and allied families) of Thomas Goble (ca. 1590-1657) and his wife Alice Mousall. Thomas and Alice left Sussex, England, ca. 1633 and settled in Charlestown, Massachusetts. Stephen Goble (b. 1759), who served in the Revolutionary War, was the son of Rhode Corey and Stephen Goble, the great-great grandson of Thomas. In the 1700's, their families lived mainly in Kentucky, North and South Carolina, New Jersey and Pennsylvania in the 1700's. In the 1800's, some moved to California, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Ohio, Oregon, and Tennessee. Some descendants and allied families also lived in China, Canada, and Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, New York, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas, Virginia, and elsewhere.
