- Summary:
- Set against the backdrop of the Japanese occupation of Korea in 1937, Modern Boy tells the story of Hae-myeong (Hae-il Park), a government official who enjoys all that 1930s Seoul has to offer. In one of the underground dance halls he discovers Nan-shil, a startlingly beautiful chanteuse, and is immediately transfixed. They start seeing each other, but Nan-shil takes him for everything he's worth and disappears without a trace. Because he believes that she was in fact in love with him as well, Hae-myung stops at nothing to find her.
