The Hirsch commentary on Avot was originally published as part of his translated siddur with commentary first issued in 1895. Hirsch's commentary on the siddur was first translated to Hebrew by Rabi Yitsḥaḳ Fridman and published by Mosad ha-Rav Ḳuḳ in 1992. The Fridman translation is the basis for this edition. Selections from Hirsch's other works were also used in creating this edition (introduction pages 9-10).
