- A series of letters originally published in the Columbian centinel, June-July 1791, under the pseudonym of "Publicola", and at the time commonly ascribed to John Adams, although the last letter states explicity that he had nothing to do with the authorship. The letters were in reality the work of his son. cf. Works of John Adams, 1850-56, v.1, p. 454 and v.8, p. 507.
